Old fashion sticky chocolate pudding

“Get ready for a trip down memory lane with this rich, decadent and oh-so-sticky chocolate pudding. If your mom was anything like mine, she knew just how to warm your heart and soul with a comforting dessert that tasted like pure love. This pudding will take you right back to those cozy days in your childhood home, where you could smell the chocolatey goodness wafting from the kitchen and couldn’t wait to dig in. So grab a spoon, close your eyes and savour each sticky, chocolaty bite. This is the taste of home.”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cake flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • pinch of salt

  • 3/4 cup castor sugar

  • 1/4 cup cocoa

  • 2 TBS butter, softened.

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • pinch ground cloves

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

  • Topping
  • 1 cup soft brown sugar

  • 1 1/2 cup warm water

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven 180C.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, 2 TBS cocoa and ground cloves together.
  • Add the butter, milk vanilla and nuts mix well.
  • Pour in a greased oven proof dish 25cm x 15cm x 5cm.
  • Mix the brown sugar and cocoa together and sprinkle over the dough. Pour the water over and Bake in a pan that is filled halve way up with water for 30 – 40 minutes.
