There’s something about the golden glow of turmeric that feels like sunshine on a plate. For centuries, turmeric has been used not just in food, but as medicine — celebrated for its powerful anti-inflammatory and heart-health benefits. In my kitchen, it’s become a staple in both comforting classics and flavour-packed modern recipes.
To make it effortless for you, I’ve done the spice-mixing already. My Turmeric Spice Blend is warming, earthy, and perfectly balanced — ready to elevate savoury and sweet dishes alike.

2 tablespoons chutney
Salt and pepper
250g Phyllo dough
100g butter, melted

Place the meat, onion, garlic and spices in a larger non-stock frying and stir-fry over moderate heat for about 5 minutes or until the meat is loose and crumbly.

Brush top of one phyllo sheet with some of the melted butter. Lay a second phyllo sheet on top; brush with some of the melted butter. Cut layered phyllo horizontal wise into 4 equal strips.
For each strip, place 2 tablespoons of filling on the bottom part 1 cm from the edge. Fold bottom right-hand corner of phyllo diagonally over filling so that bottom edge meets left-hand edge and forms a triangle. Fold triangle upward. Continue folding triangle diagonally and upward until end of phyllo strip is reached. Brush tops with some of the melted butter. Repeat procedure with remaining phyllo sheets, melted butter and filling. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
